Kobe Bryant Gone to Heaven

Photo c/o time.com
Kobe Bryant aka Black Mamba, age 41, together with his 13-year-old daughter Gigi and eight others perished in a helicopter crash today.  We are still in deep shock.  He was a great basketball player, an inspiration to millions of people who love to play basketball.  And Gigi shared his passion for the game, being a budding player herself.   As a father, I could not imagine how he might have felt during their last living moments here on earth.  The only solace he may have, was the comfort that he was with his loving daughter until the very end.  Rest in God's embrace Kobe and Gigi!

National Peanut Butter Day

Photo c/o nationaldaycalendar.com
Are you like me who loves a real good, yummy, peanut butter sandwich?  There are even times when I just love to scoop it from the jar and eat it straight away, without any bread!  I just like them whether creamy or chunky, combined with chocolate, jelly, or what have you.  There have been days when my budget is thin, that I had to resort to eating peanut butter sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  I'm just so thankful that I'm not allergic to peanuts, to enjoy this delightful spread!  I'm a peanut-lover and had great fun and enjoyment, growing them in the school garden and in my grandparent's farm!

Martin Luther King Day

Photo c/o lourdes.edu
The 3rd Monday of January is commemorated and celebrated as Martin Luther King Day in honor of the United States' most famous civil-rights activist.  I have a vague recollection of listening on the AM radio to one of his speeches in 1963 when we said a simple phrase then but would later on be a rallying cry for millions of his supporters and followers.  Thus began, the road, the quest, the journey for, "I Have A Dream."  An assassin's bullet shattered that dream on April 4, 1968.  I was 12 years old when I heard about his death.  It may have stopped the dream, the march for a short time, but after the mourning was over, the dream continued, carried on, stronger, bigger, farther.  It's quite appropriate that we're launching this blog on this day!

Authorpreneur, that's me!

Photo c/o RMO
Now I get it! I really am an Authorpreneur or more precisely an aspiring one, budding but not a wannabe! There really is such a word and by definition and according to the Urban Dictionary - "an author is someone who creates a written product, participates in creating their own brand, and actively promotes that brand through a variety of outlets. An Authorpreneur makes use of outlets such as: websites, blogs and social media, promotional materials both in print and online, opportunities to speak, generating media coverage, teaching other authors in person or online, creating unique business models to facilitate their product, offering support through those business models to other authors." I like the word Authorpreneur and everything that it may represent! Am working really hard to be a published author soon!
